Summer In Maine Is Special
There's something for everyone
Many people think of the coast when they think of Maine and there certainly is something special about Maine's rocky coast. BUT there is so much more to Maine!
Outdoor Adventure - Shopping - Concerts
Central Maine has it all
Canaan is located just 20 minutes off I95, half way between Skowhegan and Newport, or Augusta and Bangor. This means we are central to many great attractions in Maine.
Here's a few of our favorites.
Whitewater Rafting: Enjoy an exciting trip down the
river with experienced guides.

Theater and Museums: We are fortunate in the central Maine area to have cultural opportunities that offer unique museums and live dinner theater. Skowhegan has one of the few remaining Drive In Theaters- great family fun.

Canoe and Kayak: Bring your gear and hit the water and explore any number of ponds, lakes and the famous Kennebec or Sebasticook Rivers. Eagles are very plentiful in Maine and nest along the water so chances are good of seeing these majestic birds.
Lake George Regional Park Kennebec River Great Moose Pond
Fairs and Festival: The Kennebec and Moose River Valley area has many fairs and festivals for fun for all ages. Agricultural fairs and specialty festivals can be found all summer long.
